The very first product, the analogue-controlled orbital welding power source ORBIMAT 200, provided a gateway for the founders to get experience in development, engineering and efficient manufacturing of that type of product. Since the early times of the company this product has turned into a classic that is still popular and holds its own in the current sales market share.
From the beginning ORBIMATIC mainly imported and modified U.S.-manufactured systems in accordance to German and European specifications and requirements. Later on, they adapted and integrated different manufacturers' components and subsystems to each other. By this time they had developed unique systems available only from ORBIMATIC. In parallel they started, very early on, to turn these characteristics, which where borne-out of both positive as well as negative experiences, into their own approach in the orbital welding business market place. Their special attention was initially given to the spare parts price arrangements, which were usually highly overpriced with most existing competitors' systems. Moreover, this spare parts price calculation was sometimes used by competitors to compensate for the apparently low-priced "door-opener" quotations for the first complete orbital welding system. These spare parts were later on sold at highly inflated prices. This type of approach greatly and unknowingly, to the customer, inflated the true life-cycle costs of these welding systems.
Meanwhile, ORBIMATIC developed and introduced their own proprietary designed digitally-controlled power source, the ORBIMAT C, a model range which drew upon various customers' applications experiences vaulting it to the "top of the line, as most customers associated or familiar with this product admit today.
ORBIMATIC GmbH Buseck, Germany ORBIMATIC created a brand new proprietary product series with unique features and advantages, the closed-chamber very high duty-cycle ORBIWELD weldhead. ORBIMATIC targeted this series to be "in the black from the get go such that the customers were then faced with a truthful view of the system's costs without future hidden highly inflated spare parts costs.
This company philosophy is fully in-synch with the requirements of the marketplace and is borne-out by the fact that there have been more than 2000 systems sold to date. ORBIMATIC has successfully become the first and only German orbital welding equipment manufacturer to step into this world-class market position formerly dominated by firmsoutside of Germany. |
